Carlos Tatay storms to pole position, Xavier Artigas follows on P4

CFMOTO Racing PruestelGP confirmed a great team performance in qualifying for the Grand Prix of Indonesia and is ultimately rewarded with pole position. Despite the wet and tropical weather, CFMOTO riders Carlos Tatay and Xavier Artigas already showed in the practice sessions that they feel comfortable on the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, despite the difficult conditions.

After Carlos Tatay’s unfortunate race in Qatar, he can now laugh again and is happy about his first pole position in the world championship. Xavier Artigas expanded the great team result with 4th place. The focus is now on tomorrow’s race. The start is at 12:00 local time (05:00 Germany).

#99 Carlos Tatay I P01 – 1:41.232

“I left Qatar with a strange feeling, but always with a positive view of the future. I knew we were working well and our time would come. Today I am super happy with my first pole position, also for CFMOTO. I’m particularly very happy for the team, last year was very difficult for them. It´s nice to make them smile again. This pole is also for Jason Dupasquier!”

#43 Xavier Artigas I P04 – 1:41.585 (+0.353)

“Today was a really good day. Not only because of the 2nd row on the grid, but the entire team worked perfectly. Yesterday I had a good feeling on the wet track, today I was able to improve it on the drying asphalt. The feel of my bike is pretty good and a good starting position is very important because there is only one clean line on the track. I’m excited and will do my best tomorrow!”

Massimo Capanna I Technical Director

“We’re very happy with today’s result. Expectations of ourselves are very high and we’ve been working hard from the start of pre-season testing. Today’s result is very important, it confirms our team’s performance and motivates everyone around CFMOTO Racing PruestelGP.”
