For many years, the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel de Nieto in the south of Spain was the starting point of the European races in MotoGP™. The attendance figures of the last 15 years speak for themselves: Jerez attracts people. Good conditions, then, for this year’s Gran Premio MotoGP™ Guru by Gryfyn de España to once again be a highlight on the racing calendar.
Even outside the racing season, Jerez der la Frontera is a destination for numerous motorsport enthusiasts: the pleasant climate, even in winter, makes the track attractive and so it is used by many motorcycle and automobile racing teams as a training circuit. Up to 250,000 spectators can be seated in the grandstands – numerous main grandstands ensure that the best viewing conditions prevail from almost any point on the track. There are 5 left-hand and 8 right-hand bends over a total length of 4.42 km, and since the renovation the asphalt is very smooth and has a good grip. So, all in all, the layout is convincing, showing itself to be fluid and fast, which comes together especially in a whole series of high-speed right turns and the characteristic last hairpin.
This will also be a special race for the CFMOTO riders, who are complete again with the recovered #66 Joel Kelso. #43 Xavi Artigas is Spanish himself and Joel comes from Australia but calls the gorgeous island of Mallorca home. Full of anticipation for the race ahead, we wish both pilots the best possible results and hope that Joel will return to the race at full throttle after his injury and recovery break and that Xavi can continue his performance from the first three races of the season and 3rd overall in the Moto3™ class World Championship standings.

#43 Xavier Artigas
“Last year I was able to place in the Top5 at Jerez and was even in the running for a place on the podium at times. After our last race in the USA, I naturally have the demand on myself to ride far ahead again. The team and the bike are working very well and I will give everything again.”

#66 Joel Kelso
“It feels good to be back with the team. So far I am fit and looking forward to my comeback in Jerez. I’ve been back on the bike and training for the last few days. We are feeling our way and hoping for a good weekend.”
