First taste of Qatar for carXpert PrüstelGP

Jason Dupasquier and Ryusei Yamanaka got back on track before the official start of the season

The Losail Circuit will be once again the theater of the start of the season, this year back-to-back races scheduled on 28th March and 4th April. Moto3 and Moto2 teams had the chance to ride on the Qatari track for the first official test of the season, after two private ones in Valencia and Jerez.

This three-day test was characterized by hot temperature and windy conditions, but the riders were able to make many laps and work on their bikes´set-up.

After a very positive first day, where he improved his best lap time of last year already in the first session, Jason Dupasquier spent the second day working with used tyre, in order to study the best solution in view of the race. On the third day he was able to reach a good laptime, improving by almost 2 seconds his fastest lap of the previous days.

Ryusei Yamanaka had a constant improvement throughout the three days of test. The feeling with the bike and his new team is greater day by day. Ryusei and his crew  tested many different things, with the goal of finding the best set-up for the race.

The action will start again on Friday 26th March, when the season of Carxpert PrüstelGP will officially begin with the first free practice session of the year. The first race of the season is scheduled for Sunday 28th at 16:00 (CET).

I started this test very motivated. I started to feel good on the bike already on the first day, we improved already my best laptime of last year. Then the second day was a bit more complicated, we tried to do many laps in order to check tires conditions for the race. We didn´t focus on the laptimes but we worked well anyway. The last day had not the best start but then in the last few sessions of the day we did a big step forward. The last five minutes of test was like in qualifying!! I was able to do a fast lap, as I had a good feeling with the bike. I am happy with this test, but I know we can improve even more during the race weekend!! I can´t wait to race again.

Ryusei Yamanaka #6,  2´05.920

I am very happy with the work done! Despite the windy conditions, we were able to ride and improve. The feeling with the bike is increasing. We have been testing many things and now we have a good bike for the race weekend. I am also improving my riding style, adapting it to the KTM. It was a successful test. Unfortunately, we couldn´t take advantage of the last time attack. I am satisfied with the job done by my team.
