That there is more to Bella Italia than gelato, beaches and a relaxed lifestyle becomes clear when you get to the Santa Monica district of the Italian seaside resort of Misano Adriatico. This is the home of the “Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli”, which will be the venue for another hunt for the top places in this year’s Moto3™ next weekend.
Situated right on the Adriatic coast, Misano has earned a legendary status among motorsport fans from all over the world since the opening of the circuit in 1972 and the countless motorbike and car racing races that followed. It’s all about motorsport, with some of the most famous and successful MotoGP™ champions coming from the region. Among them “il dottore” Valentino Rossi and also Marco Simoncelli, who died in 2011, whose hometown of Cattolica is less than 15 minutes away from the track and to whom the circuit has been dedicated since 2012.
Varied despite the comparatively short 4.2 km total length – that’s how the course will present itself to the CFMOTO Racing PruestelGP riders. The 90-degree double bends are particularly demanding. Maximum concentration is required here, because Misano is not forgiving: once not ridden optimally, the mistake continues in the following corners. The circuit has a total of ten right-hand and six left-hand corners, which leaves little room for long straights over the short overall distance. So it is not surprising that the longest straight is only 565 metres. As a result, Misano is one of the rather slower races on the circuit.
At the Red Bull Ring in Austria, Xavier Artigas was able to finish in the points with 14th place. Due to an unfortunate contact during the race with another rider, Carlos Tatay unfortunately had to return to the pits early.
The teams and riders are looking forward to the weekend with anticipation. With focus and motivation, the goal is to collect more valuable points in the Moto3™ World Championship. Currently, the two riders are in 9th and 10th place in the overall standings (#99 Carlos Tatay 9th place, 70 points | #43 Xavier Artigas 10th place, 64 points).

#43 Xavier Artigas
“I am ready for the reunion in Italy, this time in Misano. It’s a really good track and the people there are just great – the fun there is just incredible. We know where I need to improve this weekend and we are working a lot with the team on that. I’m looking forward to the race, which will probably be in the rain this weekend, and I’m highly motivated.”

#99 Carlos Tatay
“I’m really looking forward to racing at Misano again. It’s a track I really love, and I like the Italian atmosphere. It seems to be a rainy weekend, but we are prepared for wet conditions. I have had a good feeling on the last race Sundays, and I am ready to work hard again with my team to achieve our goal.”
