From Mugello the pilots of CFMOTO Racing PruestelGP head back-to-back directly to the traditional Grand Prix of Catalonia at the gates of the charismatic capital Barcelona.
The region is home to numerous racing greats, including Marc Márquez, Jorge Lorenzo or Dani Pedrosa. For #43 Xavier Artigas, too, the Catalunya GP represents his home race and we are curious to see what he and #99 Carlos Tatay can achieve here after the unsatisfactory race results of the previous week.
With a length of 4.7 km, a width of 12 m and 6 left-hand and 8 right-hand corners, the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit is one of the best-designed tracks of modern times and was awarded the official trophy as ‘Best Grand Prix’ by the IRTA in 2001. The varied layout, with a start-finish straight over a kilometer long, rightly earns the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya a reputation for producing exciting racing.

#99 Carlos Tatay
“We get to attack again in Spain – that’s motivating. Especially, of course, after the Mugello GP didn’t go particularly well for me or my teammate. I’ll just try not to let myself get rattled. I know we’ve done a good job in the run-up and that’s where we’ll start again.”

#43 Xavier Artigas
“Riding in front of a home crowd is of course a great feeling. But as a rider you are of course under a little more pressure than you already are. In any case, I’ll still try not to let myself get rattled and be more present in the race than I was in Italy.”
