No happy end for Carxpert PrüstelGP at HomeGP

Ryusei Yamanaka crashed out of German GP but finished the race in 18th place

The HomeGP of Carxpert PrüstelGP took place this weekend at Sachsenring. With empty grandstands as no public was allowed to enter at the track, the German GP didn´t feel as the usual party it is. Ryusei Yamanaka, after recover many position in the race, crashed out but was anyway able to finish in 18th place.

In this occasion, on Friday afternoon the number 50 of Jason Dupasquier has been officially retired from Moto3 class with a ceremony in front of the team and all class riders.

It was a race weekend characterized by very hot temperature and sunny weather. Ryusei Yamanaka struggled to find the lap time on Friday practice. Also Saturday was difficult day for the team, as the qualifying didn´t go as expected and Ryusei couldn´t pass to Q2. His 7th  place in Q1 guaranteed him the 21st spot of the starting grid.

But as he proved in the previous rounds, the Japanese is definitely a “Sunday man”. Despite having not his best start, he was able to recover many positions and made up ground until the front group. Unfortunately, when he was already fighting for the top-10, he crashed out. But the Japanese rider was able to rejoin the race and finish it in 18th place.

It was a busy weekend for PrüstelGP as also NTC and RBRC raced on the German track. Now the team is heading to Assen for the last appointment before a well-deserved summer break. The Dutch GP will take place from 25th to 27th June on the TT Assen.

Ryusei Yamanaka #6

We started from 21st place, the start was not the best but then I started to recover many positions. I had a good pace and I could catch the top group in the middle of the race. Unfortunately I crashed in turn 1. It´s a shame because I could have done very well and finish the race in a good position. I will learn from this mistake, it will be useful experience for the future. It was not our best weekend but I did a step forward in the race. I feel already confident for Assen. See you next weekend!

Florian Prüstel, Team Manager

It was a difficult home GP for us. On Friday we took part in the ceremony for the retirement of Jason´s number 50. Unfortunately Ryusei struggled the whole weekend, he was not able to pass to Q2. He´s very strong in race and he recovered many positions, so start more ahead would have helped us a lot. He did a great race until the crash, but he was able to finish it. We are looking forward to Assen, the goal is to do better in qualifying in order to have it easier in the race. We want to thanks everybody for the support, our sponsors, the steward of the race track and all the fans. A big thanks goes especially to the team for their hard work throughout this difficult time.
