On the 4th of January 2020, the football field of Rudolf Harbig Stadium in Dresden became a veritable ice temple. In cold and wet conditions 32,009 fans watched the HOCKEY OPEN AIR 2020 yesterday. For the first time, this year there was also an extra league match between the Czech teams HC Verva Litvínov and HC Sparta Praha in addition to the Ice Hockey derby of the Dresden Eislöwen against the Lausitzer Füchse.
In a unique setting the Dresden Ice Lions won 5:3 against the Lausitzer Füchse, while the second match was won by HC Sparta Praha, which secured a 3:2 victory against HC Verva Litvínov.
The program of the successful event also offered special highlights for two-wheels fans. While the DJ duo Stereoact provided a good dancing atmosphere during the breaks, the Swiss PrüstelGP rider Jason Dupasquier brought MotoGP atmosphere into the stadium and impressed with two show runs on his Moto3-KTM. A great foretaste of the Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Sachsenring from 19th to 21st June 2020, concluded with a fire show accompanied by music, made the ice hockey field shine in all colours.
#50 Jason Dupasquier
“The show run in front of over 32,000 spectators at the Hockey Open Air in Dresden was of course a great debut in the PrüstelGP team. The scenery was fantastic – thank you very much for this opportunity and thanks also to the people of ADAC who arranged this Show Run. It is just great that so many MotoGP fans were in the stadium. I am really looking forward to the team home Grand Prix at the Sachsenring.”
