Ryusei Yamanaka in Montmelo to honor Dupasquier

Carxpert PrüstelGP came back on track in Barcelona with a heavy heart

Carxpert PrüstelGP decided to go back on track in Barcelona after the difficult weekend in Mugello. With an half empty box, the German team took part in the seventh round of the season with Ryusei Yamanaka.  Despite not being there physically, Jason Dupasquier was clearly in the mind of everyone. The thought is constantly with Jason and his family and friends.

Ryusei Yamanaka started the weekend with a positive FP1 and struggled a bit more on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning he missed the entrance to Q2 for less than one tenth.

After a difficult qualifying session, the Japanese rider had to start the race from 22nd position. Unfortunately Ryusei wasn’t able to keep up with the front group and fight for the top-10. He finished the race in 14th place, getting another point for the championship.

Carxpert PrüstelGP will be back on track at Sachsenring in two weeks for its home race. Even though no spectators are allowed at the track, the team and Florian Prüstel feel – especially on these difficult days – a great closeness and emotional attachment to its partners and fans. The goal is to honour Jason´s memory with the best result as possible.

Ryusei Yamanaka #6, P14

It was a special weekend. After what happened last weekend, it was very difficult to be focused on racing. I struggled a bit already in free practice and also in qualifying. Normally I get my best performance in the race, but this time it was difficult to catch the front group. I did many overtakings but the gap was already too much. It was a difficult week, but I am sure in Sachsenring I will do better to honor Jason in the best way I can.

Florian Prüstel, Team Manager

With a heavy heart, we still decided to compete in Barcelona with Ryusei. It was not easy for us to return to the box and being focused on this race weekend. After a difficult free practice on Friday and Saturday, we unfortunately only made it into Q1 with Ryusei and started the race from 22nd . We knew that the group was very big and tried to keep up with them, but we couldn’t close the gap to the front group. So we finished the race in 14th position. On behalf of the entire PrüstelGP team, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their sincere support. It has helped us throughout this very difficult weekend.
