Ryusei Yamanaka signs with PrüstelGP for 2021

The Japanese rider will complete the 2021 line-up of the German team together with Jason Dupasquier

Ryusei Yamanaka will join Carxpert PrüstelGP for his second year in Moto3 World Championship. The 19-year old from Chiba (Japan) in his rookie year has achieved 13 points and a 9th place in Andalucía as best result so far.

Before taking the step to Moto3 World  Championship this year, the Japanese talent made experience in high-level series such as Asia Talent Cup and Red Bull Rookies Cup. In 2019, he finished 5th in Moto3 FIM CEV and counted four appearances in Moto3 World Championship as wild cards or riders ‘replacement.

PrüstelGP is extremely happy to welcome Ryusei for his new adventure with KTM Moto3, a bike that he has already ridden in his Rookies Cup years. As one of the most promising rookies of this season, Ryusei will find in PrüstelGP, the perfect ambiance to continue his growing path. Convinced of the high potential of Yamanaka, the whole team can´t wait to start the new collaboration with him.

Florian Prüstel, Team Principal

We are very happy to welcome Ryusei Yamanaka in our team! He will be the team mate of Jason Dupasquier. They are in their first season in the Moto3 World Championship and I am sure we can do well next year. This is important, they have already gained some experience in World Championship and  they know almost every track of the calendar. Due to some circumstances that do not depend on us, we had to change the already announced plan for the coming season. Yamanaka showed already a good potential in his first year and convinced us immediately. He gets a one-year contract with an option for a second year. We are looking forward to the upcoming season. The whole team is really excited to work with this new rider pairing!

Ryusei Yamanaka

After making experience for 3 years in the Asian Talent Cup and 2 years in the Redbull Rookies Cup I made my debut in FIM CEV with Estrella Galicia 0,0 team. It was big challenge for me to leave my family in Japan but I have improved a lot my riding skills. This rookie year in the World Championship was hard for me and I learn that still I have some points to improve. It was an amazing experience, but I felt like it was the right time to make one step forward. PrüstelGP team team gave me the opportunity to join his project and I am really happy because I know they are a top team. I remember very well this team fighting for the World Championship in 2018 and I am sure they will give me the chance to keep growing up. I have already ridden the Moto-3 KTM in the past and I know the bike. It will be a nice challenge to show my potential the next season. I am very grateful for this opportunity and I want to thanks PrüstelGP team and all the sponsors for trusting me.

Tim Jüstel, Team Coordinator

Before we now start the last 3 races of the season in 2020, we can announce our rider pairing for next year. I would like to welcome Ryusei to our team. He has already shown a strong performance in his rookie season and was able to set some highlights. It will be very interesting to work with him and he will certainly bring some new influences to our team. Together with Jason Dupasquier we will try to fight regularly for the points next year. The two riders will then no longer be rookies. They will certainly be able to learn from each other and work together. At the same time we would like to thank Barry Baltus for the cooperation this year. It was an exciting task to start the race with the youngest driver in the paddock. We wish him all the best and maximum success on his future path in the Moto2 World Championship!
