The summerbreak is over: welcome to Austria

After almost six weeks of summer break, the MotoGP and with it the PrüstelGP Team returns to the race track – this time for the Styrian Grand Prix race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

MotoGP is ready for the second half of the season, which kicks off with the first of two races at the Red Bull Ring, the Styrian Grand Prix. The Styrian Grand Prix is the first of two race weekends that will be held at the Red Bull Ring in 2021. The 4.3-kilometer circuit features 3 left-hand and 7 right-hand corners, with a difference in altitude of more than 65 meters. A track layout that seems to suit especially Ryusei Yamanaka – the Japanese rider even managed to record a victory here once in 2018 in the Red Bull Rookies Cup.

After the second starting position in the PrüstelGP team was left empty during the last two races before the summer break in honor of Jason Dupasquier, the German Moto3 team is now starting with Filip Salac in a new line-up. The Czech already rode one season for the PrüstelGP team in 2019 and is now excited to return. Team manager Florian Prüstel will also be present at the first Grand Prix after the summer break in Austria to welcome Filip Salac back in his new old position: “we are happy to have a new line-up in the team with Filip, which is not completely new for all of us. We know him, he knows the team, and so we hope to be able to manage the difficult situation together in the best possible way in memory of Jason.”

Ryusei Yamanaka #6

«The end of the first half of the season was very difficult for all of us with Jason’s accident. We didn’t go into the summer break with a positive feeling. But the time at home in Japan was good for me – I was able to get my mind off things, recover very well and spend a lot of time with my family. Now I’m looking forward to getting back on track refreshed and with renewed energy. The Red Bull Ring is generally a race track that I like a lot. In 2018 I was already able to take a victory here once, back then in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. So I’m all the more pleased to be able to race in Austria again with Filip Salac as my team-mate.»

Filip Salac #12

«I can hardly wait to get back on the bike – the summer break was way too long for my taste. But I’ve used the time to train a lot physically and also mentally and I’m ready for the next step in my career, which I will take together with PrüstelGP, my new “old” team. It’s great to be back. And even though the weather will be a bit changeable and probably partly rainy, I’m really looking forward to the practices and to the race on Sunday.»
